MUSICIAN ALERT: Sponsored in part by Artist Development Associates in Framingham, MDI Records and the Makkay Group Broadcasters of WPXC 102.9FM formally announce plans to release a CD sampler of 14 area musicians aired on Suzanne Tonaire's "Live Lunch" show and "Homegrown" show. A major CD release party is slated for August 15th on the Village Green in Hyannis. Direct sales from the CD sampler will benefit the Cape and Islands Children's Charity, Inc. The scoop: The public will decide which 14 bands gets a spot on this CD when over the course of 14 weeks, they are invited to call in and vote for their favorite new artist aired on any of WPXC's Suzanne Tonaire's shows. Here are the basics (call for the more detailed details): Submission requests will continue through June 1st. The actual call-in voting process will begin May 3rd. Suzanne will announce the winner of the week (each week) on her Monday morning show. Let us know which song you would like to submit for the contest, length for submissions cannot be longer than five minutes. Here's more...we will continue through the course of the 14 weeks to tabulate votes for artists. Whoever has the most votes at the end of the contest will win 20 hours of full production time at MDI Records. The runner up will receive a Fender Guitar from the guys at Charlie's in Hyannis. Tue Jul 15 22:49:54 1997betty attitude of hingham (sux) said... you said you had every band in cape cod. or at least every type of music...i went into this site hoping to find some punk (yes, it is music). the freeze is a very well established punk band from the cape, and i was as disgrulted as a postal worker when i didn't see them, or any other punk bands. if you want to advertise you site by saying it has all music types, feel free to do so. but do not mislead readers who have important things to do by not actually having all music types. thank you for your time. talk hard and play it loud. -betty
